January 2012:
Arrowhead 135 – a self-supported 135-mile Ultramarathon race through Minnesota’s remote North Woods, were the average temperature is 20 degrees below zero. Tentative 2012 dates, Jan 30th-Feb 1st.
Frosty Bottom 50/25 – is Chain Reaction Cycle’s annual winter endurance event held entirely on the multi-use trails around Anchorage. Ski, bike, or run from Kincaid Chalet to Hilltop for the short version, or continue back to Kincaid for the long race. The 2012 event is slated for January 7.
February 2012:
Iditarod Trail Invitational – The World’s Longest Human Powered Winter Race 350 miles to Mcgrath or 1100 miles Nome, Alaska. 2012 race start: Sunday, February 26th @ 2:00pm.
Yukon Arctic Ultra – The world’s coldest and toughest ultra marathon, 100, 300 & 400 miles. 2012 race start, Saturday, February 4th.
Susitna 100- 100 mile ultra race by bike, foot, ski and 50 K race in Alaska. 2012 race start, Saturday, February 18th @ 9:00am for the 100, and 11:00am for the 50k.
Pugley World Championships – a 26 mile fat tire bike race in Decorah, MN. (any bike is welcome to compete).
March 2012:
Equinox Snow Challenge – West Yellowstone, MT. 3, 6, 12, and 24 hour categories. Solo or relay teams. Fatbikes, nordic skis, and snowshoes welcome. http://www.equinoxsnowchallenge.com for more info. Sunday, March 24-25th @ 10:00am.
White Mountains 100 – 100 mile bike, foot, ski ultra race in the White Mountains near Fairbanks, Alaska. 2012 race start, Sunday, March 25th @ 8:00am.
August 2012:
Soggy Bottom 100 – 100 mile race by bike in Alaska.
